This sunset family portrait session in Taylorsville, NC was extra special. My dear friend Megan Castillo invited me to photograph her beautiful family near their new home—and it was the perfect backdrop. They recently built their house and welcomed a baby, making this season of life both deeply meaningful and full of new beginnings.

We chose to capture their portraits on the land they see every day—the place they’ve poured their hearts into and now call home. There's something incredibly powerful about photographing a family in a space that carries so much significance. It felt peaceful, genuine, and emotional. I’ve known Megan since elementary school, and being able to document this milestone for her and her family was a true honor.
